If you love seafood like I do, but do not like to pay an absurd amount of money, you have to check out The Wharf DC. The Wharf is an open market with a few seafood vendors. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food.
The address is 1100 Maine Ave SW, Washington, DC 20024. There are no fancy sit-down tables or waiters, but the quality of the food is better than most restaurants. You can buy a variety of either fresh uncooked or perfectly cooked seafood. Once you get your food, there is a small dining area next to Evan Brothers Seafood where you can stand and eat your food next to the shore.
There are a few vendors at the Wharf, but Captain White’s seafood is among the most popular vendors there. One of my other favorite is Evan Brothers. I have gone there for fresh cracked oyster, steamed jumbo shrimp, king crab leg, and blue crabs.
The best way to get there is either by taxi or walking. I do not like driving there because there are limited parking spots and it is usually busy.
